UFC 270:
Jasmine Jasudavicius Outpoints Kay Hansen in Debut Win
UFC 270 took place on Saturday
night, January 22, 2022, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Jasmine
Jasudavicius started her career in a great way with this event.
On the other hand, returning to
action for the first time in over a year, Kay Hansen launched the UFC 270 card,
welcoming newcomer Jasmine Jasudavicius to Octagon.
This was Flyweight Fight Canada's
first fight in the UFC for Canada's Jasudavicius since Dana White's promotion
to the Contender Series last season. The BTC and CFFC alumnus was excited for
her third consecutive win, while Hansen, on the other hand, struggled to win
again after losing to Corey McKenna in November 2020.
As the match began, Hansen made a
quick start and landed straight before Saturday's failed attempt to open the
action and the card. Jasudavicius then started popping his jaw and landing on
his small enemy relatively easily. Hansen made a quick slip before attempting a
double leg and then hit the right hook. However, Jasudavicius managed to fill
the takedown, and quickly got one. Hansen tried to sweep to his feet, but
Jasudavicius had none of that and dropped some big elbows to take a break in
the first round of fun.
But the match in the second round
saw things change a bit when Hansen managed to get a massive take-down to start
Round Two. Success achieved. Hansen tried to go for the arm, but Jasudavicius,
demonstrating her professionalism, soon started firing. But soon Hansen was
able to stop the big action but at the same time, the referee stopped him.
Hansen then attempted another failed take-off, as well as a solid combination
that was applied intermittently through the elbow rotating backward.
Jasudavicius managed to make a big takedown to reverse the position and
eliminate the second frame.
The third and final round was
somewhat better for Kay Hansen, but it was too late. Granted, he got a house
for his check hook and made some really good clean shots, but they weren't
enough to end the fight or win. For her part, however, Jasudavicius, using her professionalism and intelligence to the fullest, added some clumsy knees at the
end of the round, and Hansen was able to eat everything he had and score more
than that. Fight on cards and win your first UFC victory.
Jasmine Jasudavicius defeated Kay
Hansen by a unanimous decision to win her first UFC career at UFC 270.
Official result: Jasmine
Jasudavicius def. By Kay Hansen unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
