UFC 272 took place tonight, March 5,
2022, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Colby Covington's match
against Jorge Masvidal in the main event was by far the most contentious match
ever played by the promotion.
Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal
were once close friends before their relationship deteriorated and the couple
spent years trading barbs in interviews. On Saturday night, the pair met at the
UFC 272 main event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with Covington scoring
49-46, 50-44 and 50-45 to reach a broad consensus.
The match was very exciting and
interesting. Masvidal started the fight with his traditional game Wild Flying
Kick. But the two fighters soon accelerated with their tactics, but before Masvidal
could kick the legs and further upset Covington, resulting in a takedown attack
as Masvidal suffered an eye injury. Complained of getting infected.
Masvidal demonstrated considerable
strength and good tactics in the second round, trying to tighten his grip on
the match, with some solid kicks and opening the cut with a sharp elbow near
Covington's eye. Which caused a lot of trouble for Covington, but Covington,
meanwhile, was looking for an opportunity and determined to make a strong
attack, he used his strike to close the gap to start the clinch. ۔
It was easy for Covington to take
off in Round 3, which put Masvidal in a cage with a double leg. He set up
rounds for Covington to dominate almost every second of the five minute frame
with ground and pound. In the third round, Covington's work took place in the
early part of Round 4, which clearly depleted Masvidal's energy.
Unfortunately, there was no gas left
in Masvidal's tank and Covington was able to recover before the end of the
round.
Covington knocked the play out of
the final round and took Masvidel down. Once he grabbed Masvidal's body,
Covington did not let go of the hand, thwarting every attempt by Masvidal to
get the fight back on its feet and just grinding seconds to reach the
scorecards. done.
It wasn't a strong ending that many
would like to see from such a grueling match, and after reading the scorecards,
a frustrated Mussolini was forced to admit that his wrestling "competition
