PFL 7: 2022 Playoffs’ results: Anthony Pettis vs Steven Ray, Omari Akhmedov vs Joshua Silveira in New York City


 

The 2022 PFL Lightweight and Light Heavyweight Playoffs aired live on Friday, August 5th from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY as we got to see the semifinals of the Lightweight and Light Heavyweight Playoffs. The Warriors are trying to get closer to the $1 million prize money they get in the finals. It was full of thrilling encounters. Here was everything that fans were looking for.

 

The main event featured Anthony "Showtime" Pettis against Stevie "Braveheart" Ray in the lightweight semifinals. Ray upset Pettis by submitting him to the 2022 PFL 5, but Pettis still entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed. Pettis tried unsuccessfully to retaliate while Ray upset everyone by defeating Pettis once again. You can watch the highlights of the match in our views section. or click here 

 

 In the other lightweight semi-final, Olivier Aubin-Mercier took on Alexandre Martinez. Aubin-Mercier has had a very successful 2-0 season so far. His win is over previous PFL tournament winners Rash Manifu and Nitin Shalte. Martinez also went 2-0 this season. Most surprisingly, his one win is over Stevie Ray.

 

In the light heavyweight division, meanwhile, it was down to American Top Team teammates Omari Akhmedov and Jaush Silveira. The winner will face the winner of Rob Wilkinson vs. Delan Monte of Brazil.
