Friday was a thrilling day for fans of mixed martial
arts. The first event that featured two action-packed events was Bellator 285,
in the main event of which, former two-division Bellator title challenger and
former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson took on Peter Queally after a
sensational fight. Defeated by clear unanimous decision after five rounds of
lightweight action in front of his hometown fans in Dublin. ( more details here )
Second, the action-packed event CW 143, which took
place on Friday in San Diego, was headlined by a lightweight clash between
Erick Sanchez (11-6, 1-0 CW) and James Lynch (4-2, 1-2 CW). In which Sanchez
showed a wonderful game by using his full potential and strength. Due to which
Sanchez left a lot of marks of his punches and kicks on his opponent. But Lynch
also responded with some kicks, showing a good game.
Of course, the beginning of the first round was full
of action. And the first minute was a thrilling affair, but the game turned
when Sanchez's antics paid off in the second minute. Team Alpha Male's
representative made the most of it to hide an absolute right hand bomb that
promptly dropped Lynch to the canvas, lights out. The official time showed the
2:31 mark of round 1.
While in the co-main event, Trey Williams (6-3, 1-0
CW) surprised everyone with an impressive performance and defeated Elijah
Harris (4-2, 1-2 CW) by unanimous decision. . Williams dominated her opponent
until the end, raining a variety of punches on her opponent. Harris, who
weighed 6.2 pounds on the scale the day before the clash, looked to Williams to
offer little aggression of his own, looking for a big, determined shot that
never came. By the end of round 2, Harris' face was covered in blood from a
surgical strike from "The King", giving his foe no chance of a late
comeback. When the dust settled, Williams won 30-26, 30-26 and 30-27 from the
judges.
