In the world of boxing, the year 2022 began with
unbeaten heavyweight contender Frank Sanchez (20-0, 13 KOs) competing against Christian
Hammer (26-9, 16 KOs).
When unbeaten heavyweight contender Frank Sanchez
added another win to his career, maintaining his best record and top ranking
with a unanimous 10-round shutout decision against substitute Christian Hammer
at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, In Hollywood, Florida. Sanchez came
out on top last October with a unanimous 10-round unanimous decision beating
big punching Efe Ajagba.
The judges scored 100-89, 100-89, and 100-89, all
for the 29-year-old Sanchez. Boxing News24 also had 100-89.
The match was not very exciting as none of the
fighters landed more than a handful of punches, as most of Sanchez's focus was
on moving and avoiding shots.
Sanchez, of course, had a high level of defense, but
his offense was limited to slapping types and Jobs' single shots.

It was the same kind of contest that Sanchez used with his counter-punching
ability to separate Aggba, which he paid off whenever he let go.
The fight between Sanchez and Hammer was a bit more
exciting than last night as Ajgba was giving up trying to win. The hammer
seemed to be just trying to survive in a travel man-level fashion.
Sanchez has been ranked # 5WBO, # 6WBC, which has
finally ordered him to fight in the title eliminator.
Not surprisingly, Hammer hit just 24 punches on
Sanchez's 89. The hammer was attached to only 13% of his punches, as Sanchez
retreated each time he threw. Sanchez retreated even when the hammer fainted,
and he seemed alert at all times to the strength of the German-based fighter.
Sanchez, a staunch ally of Canelo Alvarez, has been
doing pot-shooting, mainly in Mayweather-esque style, throughout the fight.
