Legacy Fighting Alliance: LFA 121 returns to action with the first
event of on Friday .
The day before the event, a
significant event occurred when the fighters lost weight in both the main and
co-main event on Thursday, although fortunately, the two battles took place
together and were able to move forward.
The LFA 121 title was a welterweight matchup between Chris Brown
(8-3) vs. Steve Jones (8-3),
Chris Brown was heavily involved in Welterweight's major event,
which required a catchweight against Steve Jones. Brown was fined one percent
of his fight purse. Similarly, Elijah Johns was eliminated for a featherweight
fight against Brendan Phillips, and was also fined.

The 32-year-old pair of
fighters traded kicks on each other from the start of the first round. Jones
wanted to increase his pressure on the match and initially suppressed the
action by chasing his opponent around the cage, but Brown was ready to kick as
soon as he saw the opportunity.
But Jones got a take-down in the final moments of the round with
which he managed to take the fight to the second round, as he tried to bring
the fight to the canvas. However, Brown managed to overtake Jones in the final
seconds.
The most exciting moment of the match came early in the final round
when Brown hit Jones with a powerful left hook, which resulted in a flurry of
punches as he tried to secure the final. Jones made a fuss and tried his best
to stop the attack, but Brown ended up in the back mount and kept raining
elbows and punches until the referee intervened and released Brown.
Co-Main Event: Elijah Johns vs. Brandon Phillips
Elijah Johns comes into this fight with a 7-2 professional record
and a 5-2 record in the LFA cage, losing his last fight against now-UFC
featherweight Bruno Souza at LFA 102. His opponent Brandon Phillips is 8-4 only
fighting once for LFA in a decision loss to Aaron McKenzie. Earlier in his
career, Phillips fought for big promotions like World Series of Fighting and
Bellator. Elijah Johns will come into this fight with a significant size
advantage.
