Johnson (10-2) returned home to St. Louis after enjoying a
wonderful year in 2021. The man known as "Energy G" made a triumphant
return to the LFA Octagon on the historic LFA 100 card, crowning Victor
Altamerano the new flyweight champion. . The victory came through Anaconda
Square against the first unbeaten Carly Pengelinan. In particular, it happened
when Midwest Grapler spent two and a half years away from MMA in Thailand to
train his Muay Thai striking skills. Johnson continued his run at the LFA 110 by
winning an interim title against Japanese standout Yuma Horiochi since
Ultamerano competed in Dana White's Contender Series. Not wanting to wait for
the title alliance with Ultamerano, Johnson defended his interim title against
João Camilo at LFA 114 eight weeks later.
Mota (6-0) is one of the flyweight stars emerging from Brazil's MMA
hotbed. The Brazilian fat world MMA exploded on the scene with a thrilling
performance in his North American debut at LFA 79. Geo Jitsu Black Belt faced
another unbeaten prospect, George Martinez, that night, but he surprised his
American rival with a body kick. 36 seconds compared to them. The win earned
him a shot at the LFA 100 title, but unfortunately travel problems from his
home country of Brazil prevented his title fight against Altamerano. But
misfortune once again overwhelmed the fat. When Mota made his debut at the
first LFA event in Brazil in July, but was forced to withdraw his opponent in
the LFA 111weight division, Mota, who has always been in the sport, advanced
two weight classes. And Jefferson defeated Oliveira in just two days. Later in
LFA 112. Now the 26-year-old wants to be the first Brazilian to win the LFA
Flyweight Championship.
