UFC Fight Night
result, Calvin Kattar overwhelms Giga Chikadze to score big decision victory
The Ultimate Fighting Championship
(UFC) holidays are over and the action has begun. The wait of the fan is over.
When the UFC Vegas 46 begins the New Year with the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
event tonight (Saturday, January 15, 2022) from inside the UFC APEX facility in
Las Vegas, Nevada, with live streaming on ESPN + I came back
Featherweight title contender Calvin
Katar competed for the title at the UFC Vegas 46, competing for a place in the
pursuit of the 145-pound title. In the co-headliner of UFC Vegas 46,
heavyweight heartthrobs Jack Collier and Chase Sherman are vying for a place in
the top 15. Flyweight veterans Caitlin Chokajin and Jennifer Maya will also be
seen with 125-pound standouts Rogerio Bontourine and Brendan Roivel.
Calvin Kattar, who lost his previous
match to former division champion Max Holloway. Now Katar was trying to prove
that there is still a lot to do in the UFC. And they want to do more.
Going over the weekend, Chikadze
looked like a serious title threat. A karate black belt, he won seven in a row,
including Kab Swanson and Edson Barbosa. Katar neutralized Chakadze's offense
by keeping him on the back foot throughout the fight. He crowded Chikadze with
a footwork and a crisp job. With no room to work, Chikadze fought hard in this
fight as he saw in every fight. But luck does not always come with it.
By the third round, Chikadze had cut
his right eye and nose. He still had his moments from time to time, and he
defended the dagger almost all attempts to get him to the floor, but the
pressure had a clear effect on his performance and the gas tank. The dagger
dropped him to the ground in the last seconds of the fight.
Katar improved to 7-3 in the UFC. He
went on Saturday as a 2 to 1 batting underdog. Chikadze, on the other hand,
suffered its first loss since June 2018.
UFC Vegas 46 was initially scheduled
for 12 matches, but Jesse says that misfortune can come anytime and anywhere.
So something similar happened at UFC Vegas when the illness ended the
welterweight match between Muslim Salikhov and Michael Pereira. Salikhov was
replaced by Andre Fialho, who is now shuffled to UFC 270 with Andre Fialho and
Pereira.
Similarly, Vanessa Demopoulos and
Silvana Juarez had similar weightlifting bouts, which were shifted to UFC 270
due to the COVID-19 protocol.
Saturday's show featured TJ Brown,
who faced lightweight substitute Charles Rosa when featherweight rival Gabriel
Benitez was ruled out due to injury. Due to the CoVID-19 protocol, the
bantamweight was Sidokub Kakhramonov, while Brian Kellyhar encountered Kevin
Chrome in the featherweight.
