Since moving from the UFC to Bellator, the 36-year-old Cyborg is an excellent 4-0 with three knockouts and one submission. That includes beating Julia Bud for the featherweight title in her 2020 campaign.
Cyborg vs Blencowe will face Bellator 249 again in 2020 when Cyborg won the second round to retain the Bellator women's featherweight title.
Overall, Cyborg has a professional career record of 25-2 with no competition. Aside from losing her first Pro Fight in 2005, the Brazilian star's only defeat came in 2018 at UFC 232 at the hands of Amanda Nunes.
Cris Cyborg (25-2), a former strike force, Invicta FC, and UFC featherweight title holder, is poised to gold her fourth defense of the 145-pound Bellator. Her latest victory was defeating Sinead Kavanagh in UFC 271.
Challenging him in Honolulu will be a known enemy, Arlene Blencowe (15-8). After failing to knock out Cyborg in 2020, the 38-year-old Australian won a back-to-back match against Dayana Silva and Pam Sorensen to earn herself a second crack in the belt.
In the main event, as part of the $ 1 million Bantamweight Grand Prix, Sergio Pettis (22-5) will line up against his 135-pound title Raufeon Stots (17-1). Other fights scheduled for the Bellator 278 card include Kyoji Horiguchi vs. Patchy Mix and Ilima-Lei Macfarlane vs. Justine Kish.
