On March 11, the world's largest
martial arts organization will once again broadcast ONE: Lights OUT live from
the Singapore Indoor Stadium. which incorporates two MMA title fights.
In the main event, one-featherweight world
champion Thanh Le (12-2) will be seen defending his belt against BJJ superstar Garry
Tonon (6-0) in the main event. featherweight champ Bibiano Fernandes (24-4)
defending his gold against dangerous striker John Lineker (34-9) in the co-man
event.
The 41-year-old Division King was to
defend his golden belt against the top-ranked knockout specialist at the ONE:
Bad Blood Main Event on February 11. Competition after testing positive for
COVID-19 less than 48 hours before the five-round battle.
The interim heavyweight world title
match between Anatoly Malekhin and Kirill Grishenko made headlines on February
11 instead.
The tilt of the world title will
mark Fernande's first appearance on the world stage since he won the nude
square behind former bantamweight king Kevin Belingon in October 2019.
Lineker booked his ticket against
The Flash after earning a 3-0 record in the Singapore-based promotion. His
victories over Muin Gafurov, Troy Worthen and Belingon made him a clear
favorite to become the next man to challenge the Bantamweight throne.
Fans are eager to see how the
dynamic couple will compete in the circle after months of verbal exchanges.
According to the organization's chairman and CEO, Chatri Sityodtong, the couple
was also ready to take their duel to the streets of Brazil.
ONE: Lights Out will also host an
epic featherweight meeting between current division champion Thanh Le and No. 2
contender Gary The Lion Killer Tonon.
