Charles Oliveira is ready to defend his first title.
When he will be seen defending his belt on May 7 at UFC 274 against Justin
Gaethje.
On Saturday's UFC 272 broadcast, an updated lineup
for UFC 274 was announced at Phoenix's Footprint Center and Oliveira will be
headlining defending her lightweight title against Justin Gaethje. The rest of
the card includes several notable UFC veterans, including former lightweight
heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, longtime lightweight
heavyweight contender Ovince Saint Preux, and one-time UFC lightweight title
challenger Donald Cerron. Are
Shogun met Saint Preux again in November 2014. In
their first encounter, OSP defeated Shogun by a first-round knockout.
Cerrone joins Lauzon in a light meeting between two
of the UFC's longest-serving fighters. Between the two, Cerrone and Lauzon have
a combined 64 UFC shows.
Another pair of welterweight bouts has been added to
the UFC 274 lineup, as Randy Brown will face kalinn Williams, while Danny
Roberts will horn lock with Francisco Trinaldo.
Brown has won four of his last five Octagons,
including a unanimous decision against Jared Gooden in his latest outing at UFC
Fight Night 194 on October 9.
Williams, meanwhile, is 4-1 to start his promotional
term. Most recently, "Khaos" defeated Miguel Baeza in a third round
technical knockout at UFC Fight Night 197 last November.
Roberts of England is winning back-to-back victories
in the UFC competition. After a second-round knockout victory over Zelim Imadev
in UFC Fight Night 163, "Hot Chocolate" returned to action last
October, where it surpassed Ramazan Emeev in UFC Fight Night 195.
Trinaldo, 43, has won four of his last five UFC
titles. In their last outing, Massaranduba defeated Dwight Grant in a split
decision in UFC Fight Night 196.
