Manon Fiorot who had to compete with Jessica Eye in
UFC 272. But Jessica Eye who had to withdraw from the event for unknown eye
reasons.
The former one-time title challenger announced via
her Instagram that she was withdrawing from UFC272. She wrote
Hey Believe’rs , I’m sorry to report that I’m out of my fight at UFC 272 due to an injury I sustained last night🤯😞 . I’m extremely disappointed😩 as it was a INCREDIBLE camp with my original team back home in Cleveland @strongstyle_mma . My Apologies to my opponent and the UFC. I look forward to the opportunity to Entertain and fight in front you all again In a few weeks when I’m clear to return to full contact training. 😈
But perhaps luck is on Manon Fiorot's side as he
will still have a big chance to compete in front of him inside Octagon this
month.
When we see Manon Fiorot try her luck with former
title Jennifer Maia later this month. After missing a great opportunity, Manon
Fiorot got an even better chance.
Several people familiar with the promotion plans
confirmed that Fiorot will face former title challenger Jennifer Maya at UFC
Columbus on March 26 at Nationwide Arena. MMA Janki was the first to report the
pairing.
Fiorot (8-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) was originally set to face
Jessica Eye in UFC 272 this week before being forced to retire due to an eye
injury. "The Beast" has been 3-0 since signing with the UFC,
including a TKO win over Victoria Leonardo and Tabatha Ricci. In his most
recent appearance, Fiorot showed off her skills in the way of a unanimous
decision victory over Mayra Bueno Silva at UFC Vegas 40 last October.
After giving a unanimous decision to Valentina
Shevchenko on the occasion of her first title in UFC 255, Maia returned with a
unanimous decision victory against Eye in UFC 264 last July. The No. 6 fighter
in the MMA Fighting World rankings has not been able to maintain this momentum
as she left the decision to Caitlin Chokagian in the January UFC Vegas 46
event. Maia has also signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC, sources confirmed
MMA Fighting.
