Legacy Fighting Alliance Friday night at the
Commerce Casino in California. It was an action-packed and thrilling night. Where
Legacy Fighting Alliance presented its most dangerous card yet with the LFA 137
explosion — featuring undefeated featherweight prospect Hyder Amil taking on
Chase Gibson in the main event. Who experienced three times more than that. And
surprised people.
Amil was a perfect 6-0 to start the night, facing an
opponent in Gibson who boasted nearly three times his experience. However, more
experienced foes were nothing new to Amil. He also finished four of his six
fights inside the distance.
Gibson, for his part, won two straight fights under
the LFA banner in 2020 after coming up short in Dana White's Contender Series.
The action had started from the first round. When Amil
threw his opponent to the mat after kicking him twice to the body. Gibson,
however, made a more persuasive argument, as he executed the takedown, moved
backwards, positioned himself with a body triangle and later threatened a
standing naked choke. Amil overcame his serious brush with adversity, took the
bout to the second round and took advantage of the opportunity. He drove Gibson
to the fence and let fly with a Hellock multi-punch burst, leveling the
California mixed martial arts product with a searing right hook. Gibson's legs
buckled under him, and although he appeared to regain consciousness as he hit
the canvas, a few follow-up punches forced referee Frank Trigg to intervene.
Also on Friday's LFA 137 card, bantamweight Ricardo
Dias faces rising John Sweeney in the co-main event, while the former UFC
fighter's Henson training partner, Alandria Brown, is in action in the opening
bout.
The main card
of LFA 137 airs live on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 10PM ET. Full results of
the LFA 137 event can be found below. Thank you for coming here.
